Ava K, a determined and creative Year 5 pupil, has shown that small actions can have a big impact, raising an impressive £121.18 — with more donations still coming in — for the Children in Need charity.
Using her evenings and lunchtimes over two weeks, Ava crafted a variety of bookmarks, bracelets, and badges, which she sold to peers in Preparatory School. This effort was a significant step up from her initiative last year, when she created enough goods to support only her own class. This time, Ava aimed to go “bigger and better,” expanding her efforts to the entire school.
When asked about her motivation, Ava said:
“I thought about who the money would go to and how the money I raise would help. I wanted to help other children to give money towards things that can save their lives.”
Ava’s heartfelt determination to make a difference has captured the attention of her schoolmates and teachers, who rallied around her project. Word of her activities even spread beyond the school gates, leading to contributions from her dad’s workplace.
This wonderful act is not only a testament to Ava’s resourcefulness but also her commitment to helping those in need. By putting her skills and time into action, she has demonstrated how young people can play a crucial role in making a difference in the lives of others.
