Important information about our new approach
At Tettenhall College, we understand that the choice of independent education is a significant investment for any family. We take that seriously.
Despite the changes now in place, due to the imposition of VAT on school fees, the Governors and Senior Leadership Team have worked carefully and strategically to deliver a bold, measured and funded fee position which is in place and fully published for the 2025 -26 academic year.
- We have fixed the tuition fee position for day pupils in Reception class, Year 1 and Year 2, as well as those in Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13, to be the same level as it is today (spring term 2025). No tuition fee increase is being applied.
- The tuition fee position for pupils in years 3 to 6, has decreased slightly, from £5,026 per term, to £5,000 per term.
- A new tuition fee rate for pupils in Years 7 and 8 is being introduced over the next two years. In September 2025, pupils in Year 7 will be charged £5,000 per term, which is the same rate as those in years 3 – 6. In September 2026, this rate, equivalent to the same rate at that time in Years 3 – 7, will also apply to pupils in Year 8.
- A new tuition fee rate for Sixth Form students in Years 12 and 13, is being introduced over the next two years. In September 2025, students in Year 12 will be charged £4,167 per term (£12,500 per year). In September 2026, the reduced rate will apply to students in both Year 12 and Year 13.
VAT is included in all fees detailed above, and the fee sheet below includes both the net and the gross charges.
Why and how has this been possible?
Independent education remains an expensive option for families, and we take very seriously the investment that parents make. We are pleased to confirm that funding has been secured which allows us to make some major strategic changes to our fee positions for pupils in Year 7 (and then Year 8) and also those in Year 12 (and then Year 13). By doing so, most families who are with us will benefit from these materially significant fee changes during their child’s educational journey.
Tettenhall College is committed to delivering a high-quality education for all pupils and has worked tirelessly to ensure that our Preparatory Pathways Programme, our Senior School experience and our newly framed Sixth Form Pathways Programme offer the highest levels of ambition, rigor and individual attention that we can. Our spread of subject choices remains broad and the additional opportunities to pupils across the whole school was praised in our most recent inspection report last year.
Tettenhall College is proudly inclusive, and pupils find our school to be a place where they can thrive, grow and succeed. Yet this must never be confused or misinterpreted as being at the expense of academic success. A strong and important decision has been made to widen, not narrow, access to those young people about to commence their Sixth Form studies, who are aspirational, ambitious and individuals of character. As such, the new Sixth Form fee, in parallel with a newly framed Sixth Form Pathways Programme, is now launched.
Yet a balance must be struck, and this is why our response is targeted and not diluted across every year group. Quality remains the hallmark of excellent independent education. Tettenhall College is very proud to offer a wide range of academically strong options, starting with our comprehensive preparatory programme and then at GCSE and A Level. In our Sixth Form we deliver outstanding science teaching, the top level of computer science studies at this stage; French and Spanish alongside native language tuition in Chinese, Russian, German, Persian and much more; both Mathematics and Further Mathematics, Psychology, Religious Studies, History, Geography, English Literature, Business and also Economics; Music and Art & Design – our Arts education is superb. For those who wish to incorporate a more practical element to their studies, we now offer CTEC courses in Sport & Physical Activity, along with Performing Arts – unsurprising given our beautiful and historic theatre.
Additional Information:
An acceptance deposit of £500 per pupil for Day Pupils and £1,000 for Boarders (Non UK pupils are required to pay the first term’s fee in addition) is payable upon confirmation of a place. This is returnable when the pupil leaves the College and upon settlement of their final bill. Fees are usually reviewed for the beginning of each academic year at the discretion of the Governors, and parents are given as much notice as possible of any changes.
