Two National Swimming Champions!

Posted: 2nd December 2019

On Saturday 30th November, four swimmers from Senior and Prep School travelled to the London Olympic Swimming Pool; Olivia Odell, Sammy McDonnell, Oscar Ward and Jamie Welch, where they represented the Midlands Swimming Team.

Olivia Odell and Team Midlands won our first medal of the day; bronze in the 4 x 50m Year 7 Girls Medley Relay. Olivia swam a personal best time and finished 6th in her individual Year 7 Girls Breaststroke Race. Amazing swimming Olivia.

Our second medal of the day! Samuel, Oscar and Team Midlands won silver in the 4 x 50m Year 7 Boys Medley relay. Fantastic Swimming Boys.

And the medals just kept coming!

Oscar then swam the race of his life to take the individual bronze medal in the Year 7 Boys Butterfly race.

Well done to Jamie, 6th place in the Year 5 Boys 50m Freestyle with a personal best time. Jamie and the Midlands Team then went on to win silver in the Year 5 Boys Freestyle Relay. Superb Jamie.

Sammy then took to the pool again, to swim in the Year 7 Boys Freestyle event and finished 6th, achieving a personal best time.

To complete an amazing days swimming, WE HAVE TWO ISA NATIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONS!

Samuel and Oscar helped the Midlands team win the Year 7 Boys Freestyle Relay.

What a day and what a credit they all are to Tettenhall College.

Olivia, Sammy, Oscar and Jamie, you have smashed it and we are so proud.
