As part of the programme to introduce children to the new library, and to celebrate Roald Dahl Day, we asked our children to take part in a quiz based on the life and works of Roald Dahl. We had many correct entries and Jamie was the lucky winner. Jamie took home a certificate and a chocolate bar or two, and although none of these were Wonka bars Jamie was rather pleased.
This is just part of our programme to encourage and develop reading for pleasure. Our children have reading lessons in the library as well as using it during their free time. Competitions and challenges will help to keep it fun and exciting. Other competitions we have running at the moment are our Extreme Reading competition which closes Friday 28th September, just as we launch our poetry competition for National Poetry Day on 4th October.
