A Level Options

The A Level years are academically challenging and entry into the Sixth Form (Years 12-13) is dependent on appropriate success levels at GCSE: the minimum entry requirement into the Sixth Form at Tettenhall College is five GCSEs at Level 5 or above (grade 6 in maths to study further maths).

The demands of A Level study are very different to those of GCSE. Support and guidance is always at hand from all staff and in particular from the Form Tutor and Personal Tutor who remain in close contact with the pupil throughout their two years.

The tutors support the pupil with any day-to-day issues and act as a source of advice and encouragement. They also help the pupil follow and understand the UCAS system when applying to university, writing their reference and advising on personal statements. We encourage all of our pupils to maximise their opportunities for success at A Level whilst preparing them for study and employment beyond Tettenhall College.
