What's On Music

Please find below information and key dates regarding forthcoming music events for the academic year 2016-17.

We look forward to a wonderful year of musical opportunity for all our pupils here at Tettenhall College and thank you in advance for your support at these events.

Music Camp at Condover Hall: September 30th – October 1st, Shrewsbury.

Pupils of School Choirs, Orchestra and the Jazz Band will rehearse in preparation for the events in the year, as well as participate in the activities on offer at this outdoor pursuits camp. Parents will be invited to hear the performance on the Saturday. There will be a cost of around £65 for this camp which covers transport, accommodation, food and activities.

Senior Choir, North Wales Choral Competition: November 5th 2016

All members of Senior Choir are expected to commit to this event, as we are already booked in to this high profile competition. There will be a small charge to cover transport for the day.

Music For Youth Regional Competitions: Spring Term.

This is UK’s largest music festival. All music groups from any school have access to this event and we hope to put both vocal and instrumental groups into this competition.

Instrumental and Vocal Young Musician Evening: February 2nd 2017, Towers Theatre at 6pm

Pupils learning an instrument or voice are invited to perform in a Young Musician of the Year styled event. The peripatetic teachers will be there to assist the pupils and also will be available to talk to parents about their children’s progress. This replaces the old ‘Music Parents’ Evening’ event.

Tettenhall College Night of the Proms: Friday 3rd March 2017, 7pm Towers Theatre

All groups and selected soloists will be invited to perform in this formal evening, with some British patriotism rolled in. This event will showcase the successes of music across the year and School, and will be a ticketed event

Male Vocal Ensemble

Adding to our Choirs, Orchestra, Prep Band, and Jazz Band, the Male Vocal Ensemble will begin in September. This group will have access to the Spring Term events for their debut performances.
