Beyond the Classroom

We offer endless opportunities to enhance and widen experiences through an extensive extra-curricular programme, a variety of trips and visitors, lunchtime clubs, leadership opportunities, public examinations in public speaking, singing and instruments, buddy and Prefect schemes, the Boat Programme, team fixtures, House events and competitions including visual art, singing and regional and national level sports.

As well as opportunities including becoming a Prefect, Head Prefect or Digital Leader, extra-curricular clubs offer everything from fencing to Swimming Academy, karate, Latin, crafts and cooking. Our wide variety of sports also extends to golf, football, tennis and rugby. We participate annually in the National Quiz Club championships, have some sharp card players and chess masters, and obtained a clean sweep of Distinctions in our last ESB examinations. All children from Year 2 to 6 experience outdoor residential trips and all children enjoy day trips, visiting theatre groups and authors, and themed weeks of activities.

All pupils have the opportunity to shine in our annual musicals – spectacular events empowering children to step outside of their comfort zone and experience the thrill of performance.

Many charity events take place during the year, and children are enthusiastic about helping others, both locally, nationally and internationally, who are not as lucky as they are. Recent beneficiaries of pupils’ generosity include Macmillan and Cancer Research and the Well in Wolverhampton.

Achievements beyond the classroom include individual excellence, particularly in sport and in musical theatre, and pupils participate enthusiastically in opportunities offered to them. ISI Report
