Outstanding A level results

Posted: 17th August 2017

Tettenhall College was celebrating another set of outstanding results today, with two thirds of its pupils gaining A*- B grades.

The leading independent school, in Wood Road, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, also saw 33% of its pupils gain top A* and A marks and an overall pass rate of 94 per cent.

Standout performances included Elizabeth Harvey, of Codsall, with three A* grades and Max Toor with two A* grades and an A. There were also excellent results from international students Yayin Wang (A*, A, A) and Alexandr Gritsay (A, A, A), reflecting the calibre of pupil attracted to the school from overseas.

Headmaster David Williams said the A Level results were the most successful he had seen since he joined the school.

“I am delighted with this year’s results, which are testament to our pupils’ hard work and our dedicated team of staff,” he said. “This has been a very talented year group who have met the high expectations that we had of them.

“They have also contributed fully to the many other aspects of school life and I have no doubt they are destined for successful futures. We wish everyone well.”

The school has received an additional boost this year, with work underway on a £3m redevelopment project including a striking new sixth form centre, with mezzanine ICT and study area, as well as a new common room, a modernised library, upgraded boarding houses and additional sporting facilities.
