Welcome to Boarding

Welcome to Boarding

Our boarders live as part of a true family community where your child will be happy, safe and cared for. This really is “home from home” and family is at the heart of all we do. Our two boarding houses, School House and Thorneycroft House both have relaxed, friendly atmospheres where boarders truly feel at ease.

Emphasis is placed on developing individual strengths of all abilities and our caring staff create a nurturing environment, with small class sizes and excellent pastoral care. We have over 70 boarders, a diverse mix of British, European and International pupils, all of whom enjoy a close relationship with the staff that live on-site to look after them, and with each other.

We ensure that there is ample opportunity for pupils to socialise with friends, concentrate on their studies as well engage in a variety of extra-curricular activities, such as music, drama, sport and charity work. Boarders benefit from weekend activities and cultural visits which makes leisure time enjoyable and enriching and staff are always there to share our pupils’ successes and help them with any problems.

For international pupils we offer a Pre A-Level Course for those who are not familiar with the UK educational system. This introduces them to the curriculum, provides intensive English language teaching and supports them with their studies.

All of our boarders are extremely happy here and are a valued part of our school community. Our academic results are outstanding and many continue to prestigious UK universities as well-rounded, confident young adults.

We look forward to welcoming your child to the boarding house.
