Meet the Headmaster

David joined Tettenhall College as Headmaster in January 2014. A linguist, he graduated from Kingston with a BA (Hons) in Languages, Economics and Politics before gaining an MSc in Managing School Improvement at Reading University.

He started his teaching career teaching French and Spanish and was Head of Modern Foreign Languages and Director of Sixth Form at Reading Blue Coat School.  David then moved to Wellingborough School in Northamptonshire where he was Senior Deputy Head for 5 years prior to his move to Tettenhall. A keen sportsman, he has been involved in coaching school football and cricket teams throughout his career; indeed his passion for the role of sport in education is evident from the continuing development of the sporting facilities and opportunities at the School since his arrival.

David brings with him passion and enthusiasm and a determination to ensure that each and every pupil at Tettenhall College achieves his or her potential, whatever their ability. Already this drive has seen admissions to the School increase significantly with a strategic plan for future development that will ensure that the School continues to grow and deliver outstanding results. His ultimate aim is for Tettenhall College to become the best small school in the country for both British and international pupils.

The success of the school lies in the good standard of achievement and excellent personal development of its pupils, from the EYFS to Year 13. ISI Report 2011
